To install Cheetah plugin run Cheetah.Setup.exe (that you can download from our site or from Autodesk App Store) and follow instructions.

Our plugin requires .Net Framework 4.5.1 and Visual C++ 2013 (or Visual C++ 2015) Runtime Libraries, so during installation setup program can ask you to download and install these prerequisites from Microsoft web site, if you have no such components in your system.

Setup will copy program files to AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins. No special registry entries are created or modified.

Besides this, setup program creates Cheetah.Solver.Demo folder in the user’s Documents directory, and copies there “Read me” file and 15 folders with demo dwg-files that helps to compare native AutoCAD solver with Cheetah Solver.

After installing Cheetah Solver plugin, the main UI changes in AutoCAD are the Cheetah Solver Plugin buttons that are added to “Add-ins” tab of the AutoCAD Ribbon control – Activation button, two Switch On/Off buttons, Convert button and Cheetah Auto Constrain button (see Fig.3 above).

Besides this Cheetah tab is added to AutoCAD Options Dialog:

This dialog, as well as main commands of Cheetah Solver plugin are described in section 5.

Besides these small UI additions, the work with AutoCAD using installed Cheetah Solver is practically the same as the work with AutoCAD using its built-in constraints solver.
